Fred is a Scottish Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in finance and international business operations.
From 2000 until February 2006 Fred was CFO of Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) having joined the Board just after the acquisition of Natwest by RBS. Fred was a key member of the team at RBS responsible for transforming operating profit from £3.3billion in 1999 to £8.3billion in 2005 and in creating the fifth largest bank in the world with a market capitalisation of over £60billion.
Prior to RBS Fred was CFO at Wassall plc, an internationally focused acquirer of underperforming businesses where, through improved operating performance, over £400million of shareholder value was created.
