What a phenomenal weekend! On Sunday 26th and Monday 27th October, we welcomed our incredible supporters back for the 19th annual nsif Golf Day – our flagship fundraising event and a true highlight of the year.
We started the event off on Sunday 26th July, when passionate golfers gathered for a practice round on the world-renowned eighteen-hole course. Spirits were high as players warmed up for the big event, surrounded by stunning scenery.
That evening, guests joined us for a sparkling champagne and canapé reception, laughter and conversation flowed as attendees took part in our charity raffle, with prizes drawn later that night.
The Gala Dinner was a dazzling affair. David Nicholls, our founder, opened the evening with heartfelt words, setting the tone for a night of celebration and purpose. Guests were treated to a delicious four-course feast crafted by the exceptional team at the Mandarin Oriental. The silent auction, featuring 14 extraordinary prizes, sparked lively bidding and raised an impressive £21,500.
Then came the live auction, masterfully hosted by Charlie Ross, which raised a remarkable £39,300. From luxury escapes to Bangkok and Singapore to fine dining experiences, the generosity of our bidders was truly inspiring. The energy soared with an incredible performance by West End stars, who lit up the room with beloved musical hits.
Monday morning saw 20 teams tee off in friendly competition, fuelled by a hearty breakfast and high spirits. The day finished with our much-loved Golf Day Brunch and prize ceremony, with Phil Wynn, Kevin Hudson, Jonathan Rooney and Steve Bradshaw announced the winning team
A heartfelt thank you to Jennifer and Paul Gibbons for once again hosting us at their beautiful resort, and to the incredible catering from the Mandarin Oriental and support teams who made everything run seamlessly. To our prize donors, auction participants, and every guest – your contributions helped us raise almost £120,000 this year.
Every pound goes directly toward pioneering research and life-changing work in the fight to treat and cure spinal cord injuries. Your support brings us one step closer to transforming lives.
We can’t wait to welcome you back next year to celebrate the 20th annual golf event, in the much warmer month of July.
