Nsif supporter Jane Shepherd will be taking on the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin on 2nd June 2019. Jane was inspired to fundraise for nsif after meeting Claire Lomas and hearing her story.
Following an accident leaving her with two broken legs, Jane has some metal work in her ankle but isn’t going to let that stop her giving the 10km route her best shot and running for those that can’t.
Jane recently updated us on her training so far:
“Training is going well and so far my leg is holding up well. I had some new trainers and insoles fitted two weeks ago, which seem to be helping a lot. My face is getting redder and redder, which is a reflection of the effort being put in. I think it could become a source of renewable energy!
My son has taken up the running bug, which is an unexpected – but very welcome – consequence of doing the 10k.
My NSIF baseball cap, T-shirt and wristbands have arrived! I look forward to going around Dublin wearing those.”
We are looking forward to the 2nd June and will be supporting Jane all the way! If you would like to wish her good luck, click the link below to donate now and help raise funds for pioneering research!
