It is with immense sadness that we share the news that Daniel Nicholls, son of our Founder David Nicholls, passed away peacefully on 19th October 2026 with David by his side.
Daniel was the reason nsif exists. After the accident that left him paralysed, David founded the charity with one unwavering purpose: to fund research towards a cure for paralysis. Through all the years that followed, Daniel was the motivation behind David’s relentless work and the inspiration for everything we do.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, nsif continues to fund spinal cord injury research at UCL and Imperial College London. That work will carry on in Daniel’s name, and we are determined to honour him by continuing it.
Our thoughts and prayers are with David, the Nicholls family and everyone who knew and loved Daniel. We ask that you respect their privacy at this very difficult time.
