Coronavirus Update

At this uncertain time, we would like to send our best wishes to all our supporters and the broader SCI community. If you have a spinal cord injury or you live with or care for someone who is, you may be concerned about the impact of the Coronavirus.

As the situation develops it is important to source information from official bodies, such as the government and the NHS. Those with SCI may be at higher risk of serious illness as a result of contracting the virus. The Spinal Injuries Association are in regular contact with the NHS and will provide medical advice for the SCI community as and when it becomes available –  www.spinal.co.uk/news/coronavirus-and-spinal-cord-injury/.

This is a very difficult time for everyone and nsif as a charitable organisation is not immune from this. Most of our funds are raised through events. As question marks remain over whether these events will be able to proceed, there is a real possibility that this vital source of income may disappear. We are closely reviewing official guidance from the government and relevant authorities. If you have registered for one of our upcoming events, we will be in contact shortly.

Despite the ongoing situation, our goal of funding research into developing a cure for paralysis remains our absolute priority. Your support in reaching this goal has never been more important. Over the coming weeks we will be sharing ideas of how you can help the charity online and from home.

We would like to thank every one of you for continuing to support nsif at this challenging time and hope you all keep well.
