On 1st June we held our very first Clay Pigeon Shoot event, set in the beautiful Berkshire countryside at Pennsport Shooting School. The day started with breakfast on arrival and a mini masterclass on the art of clay pigeon shooting for those new to the sport. Founder Nick Penn, who has tutored a variety of clientele including HRH Prince Charles, greeted everyone and sent the teams out to the flushes as the sun proceeded to make an appearance.
After an exciting morning vying for the top team spot, attendees gathered outside the marquee for a well-deserved drink whilst waiting for lunch to be served. During lunch guests were able to purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win one of three fantastic Fortnum & Mason hampers and a magnum of champagne. nsif CEO Mike Milner thanked everyone for coming and gave an update on the important work the charity is funding. Nick Bonham, the live auctioneer, then kicked off the auction by getting a guest to donate a £10 note and then proceeded to auction it off for £140 – impressive!
Seven fantastic lots, generously donated for the live auction, were sold. Items included: a three-course lunch for ten guests at Jason Atherton’s Pollen Street Social, six tickets to the FA Cup Final 2019, four tickets in a hospitality box at the o2 arena for Michael McIntyre, two rods on the famous Bagnor Estate Chalk Stream, a two-night stay for twenty guests at the award winning Craigellachie Hotel in Scotland, Fortnum & Mason wine tasting experience for eight people and one weeks’ stay in Villa Cinta, Indonesia for eight people with £5,000 contribution to flights.
The event was a fantastic success raising tens of thousands of pounds and was thoroughly enjoyed by all guests.
Special thank you to Helen Storey, Alastair Storey, Nick Penn & team, Matthew Clark, Portico Flowers, Hildon Water, Majestic Wine Warehouse, Bidfood, Champagne Lanson, Tyron Mills Photography, Nick Bonham and all those who supported the event.
