The BBC recently shared a powerful tribute to Claire Lomas MBE – a woman whose courage, determination, and fundraising efforts have inspired thousands across the UK and beyond.
Claire’s story is one of extraordinary resilience. After a riding accident in 2007 left her paralysed, she refused to let that define her future. From completing the London Marathon in a robotic suit to lighting the Paralympic flame and raising nearly £1 million for spinal injury research, Claire became a beacon of hope and possibility.
The BBC’s feature, which aired on Breakfast and is now available online, captures Claire’s spirit beautifully — and the legacy she leaves behind. You can read the full article here:

Her close friend, Pid, and her husband, Dan, are now taking on the final leg of Claire’s fundraising journey, aiming to push the total past the £1 million mark through a series of wheelchair challenges. Their efforts are a testament to the love and admiration Claire inspired in everyone around her.
As of today, the fundraising total stands at £38,184, meaning we are 80% of the way there to reaching the £1 million fundraising target.
