On 19th April we were lucky to be joint beneficiaries of the 5th Annual Ceres Charity Luncheon along with the Matt Hampson Foundation. The event, which was held at Cheltenham Racecourse, started with a champagne reception, followed by a delightful three-course lunch.
During lunch Rob Bonnet hosted a Q&A with nsif patron Claire Lomas and Matt Hampson, founder of the Matt Hampson Foundation. They both talked about how having a spinal injury has affected their lives and how the two organisations are offering hope and support to those with spinal injuries.
Following the Q&A guests had some guidance with ‘marking their cards’ for the afternoon races from jockey Tom Scudamore. After this the live auction took place. This saw a number of exclusive lots, all generously donated to the event. Items included: private dinner for eight hosted by Michel Roux OBE at The Waterside Inn, seven nights stay in a luxury hotel in Barbados and two tickets to Wimbledon Centre Court.
The afternoon saw a number of races including the main race of the day the Matt Hampson and Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation Silver Trophy Steeple Chase, won by Henryville.
The event was a spectacular success raising thousands of pounds for both charities and enjoyed by all guests.
Special thank you to James Richardson and Toby Stoate from Ceres Charity, Cheltenham Racecourse, the Matt Hampson Foundation and all those who supported the event.
