Fourth Annual Christmas Carol Concert

On Monday 9th December we held our fourth annual Christmas Carol Concert at St Andrew Holborn. Over 100 guests from across the UK (and Germany!) joined us for a festive evening of carols, choirs and canapes all while raising money for spinal cord injury research.

Long-term supporter Helen Fospero kicked off the evening as our host, introducing the fantastic Walton Voices choir directed by Johnathon Kilhams. The choir, accompanied by Gareth Giles on the piano and Monty Bland on the double bass, led the congregation through some festive favourites including Hark the Herald, Good King Wenceslas and We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

The award-winning soprano Katie Marshall treated the audience to her stunning performance of Walking in the Air, O Holy Night, Wonder as I Wander and First Mercy, before joining forces with the Walton Voices to perform a very special rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas.

We were honoured to have Cure Girl Lolly Mack join us as our guest speaker. Lolly’s speech was both moving an inspirational as she discussed the story of her injury and her motivations to raise awareness of and money for spinal cord injury research.

Following the concert, mince pies, mulled wine and canapes provided by BaxterStorey were enjoyed by all. Guests seized the opportunity to purchase our cookbook, Off Duty, as a stocking filler, while others enjoyed guessing the number of sweets in the jar. With all proceeds going to nsif it was a fantastic way to show further support for the charity.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us and all those who gave their time and voices to make the evening the special occasion it was. Thank you also to our sponsors Beavis Morgan, BaxterStorey and Helen Clifford Law.
