Jeffrey Archer is a best-selling author and former politician. He was Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party from September 1985 until November 1986. Jeffrey Archer was made a Life Peer in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List of 1992.
As an author Jeffrey has been published in 97 countries and more than 37 languages, with international sales passing 250 million copies. He is the only author ever to have been a number one bestseller in fiction (fifteen times), short stories (four times) and non-fiction (The Prison Diaries).
His charitable work has included the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, the British Heart Foundation, the Fund for Addenbrooke’s and the Facial Surgery Research Foundation.
