Helen has been a journalist for more than 20 years and is one of the UK’s most trusted breakfast anchors. She has worked for the BBC, ITV, Five News and Sky News as well as for newspapers and on radio. Helen was working in New York at the time of 9/11 and witnessed the Twin Towers falling down from the fire escape of her apartment. She subsequently reported on the tragedy and the following so-called ‘war on terror’.
Helen fell in love with her American producer, Carl, and the two now live in London with their daughter Francesca.
“David has promised his son Dan that one day they’ll walk together. In the old days, that would have been a pipe-dream. Now the medical world believes that a major breakthrough is on the horizon, which could make that dream a reality, not just for Dan, but for many of those whose lives have been shattered by spinal cord injury. I am determined to do everything I can to help. I’m proud to be a founder patron of nsif.”
