Steven Smith’s London Marathon

Our trustee Steven Smith is taking on the Virgin Money London Marathon on 23rd April to raise vital funds for nsif. Steven was told in 2011 that he would not be able to walk again, but has been able to recover sufficiently to walk with a stick. Every step he takes requires a huge amount of effort. Steven won’t be doing any training; he will be saving everything he has to complete the London Marathon, which is over 26 miles long.

‘I’m raising money for the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, a charity that has developed the only real hope to cure paralysis. The reality is that people like myself and others who are far worse could one day recover’.

To read more of  Steven’s story and show him your support,  please visit his Virgin Money Giving Page.

If you want to join us on the 23rd to support Steven and our other marathon runners, please email info@nsif.org.uk for more information.

Thank you Steven for all of your hard work and we look forward to celebrating with you at the finish line!
