Over the last year, nsif champion Jane Roden chose nsif to be the Lady Captain’s charity of choice at the Dulwich & Sydenham Hill Golf Club. Jane raised a fantastic £2,500 for nsif.
When asked about her fundraising achievements Jane had the following to say:
‘Sadly my year is now over but I hope I have raised the profile of nsif during that time as well as some money. Certainly a few members have been more than a little impressed to learn what nsif does and to hear about it on the news.’
Funds were raised through a variety of different activities from entry fees to competitions, raffles, donations, “reverse bingo”, bets on the outcome of a “drive” and Captain & Pro matches (two members challenge the Captain & Pro).
Part of the money was also collected at a fundraiser put on at the club last summer. This was a concert featuring two exciting rock bands, firstly Spread Eagle and secondly Brainstorm; a band made up two professors of neurology! There was a great turnout on the night and one of the attendees was our own CEO Mike Milner who said:
‘I had a great evening, the quality of the music was first class; it was well attended and very enjoyable.’
Thank you to Jane and all the members at Dulwich & Sydenham Golf Club. You have not only raised much needed funds but importantly the profile of the charity. For that we are extremely grateful.
